Kohler Chocolates

Kohler engaged Vine to elevate their chocolate presentation and unboxing experience. We initially considered replacing their current rigid box entirely, but ultimately resolved to maintain the legacy outer box and redesign the internals with new thermoform and paperboard components.

Refined concepts focus on broadening the scope to a thermoform cover and paper-based base.

This configuration showcases the chocolate and utilizes the paper bases for affordances to remove the candy.

The production concept utilizes a thermoform try with a flange to allow easy removal from the rigid box outer.

An alternative design utilizes a die-cut hole in the clear thermoform paired with a paper tab to allow the assembly to be more easily removed.

Initial Concepts focus on utilizing the current thermoform trays and rigid box base paired with new covers that provide a unique unboxing process.

I utilized thermoform bases to showcase the design in context. 3D-printed bases were used to check fitment.
