Hexclad sought the Vine team’s guidance in creating a packaging solution for their Hexmill product launch. This premium spice mill would be sold in retail and direct-to-consumer.
I collaborated with the brand and graphic design team to lead the physical packaging design strategy and concept design process.
The brand ethos of Hexclad and its design family pillars provided guardrails for design exploration in form, function, and user experience.
The hexagonal logo and associated brand pattern inspired the concept shape direction.
We explored multiple unboxing options, and ultimately, the intuitive nature of a book-style opening feature provided the desired unboxing experience.
The production concept utilizes a two-sided rollover corrugated carton printed on both sides to allow high-value print.
On the shelf, the brand pattern, logo, and shape are immediately recognizable.
When opened, you are presented with a thoughtful presentation of the product and easily understood use instructions on the back side of the opening flap.
